Senior Psychological Clinician

Provides administrative leadership in clinical, training and/or sponsored programs, including clinical supervision at a unit level. Functions under the supervision of a higher-level licensed psychologist.

Duties:

  • Conducts evidence-based psychological screenings/assessments and interviews. Presents results in written and verbal formats.
  • Provides evidence-based individual, family and/or group counseling.
  • Provides clinical supervision to licensed and under licensure supervision clinicians and graduate psychology, social work, and other behavioral health trainees.
  • Engages in administration of clinical and/or sponsored programs activities, including contracting, data collection/management/reporting, budget/financial analysis, program activities coordination, etc. Performs analyses to determine needed services, funds, volunteers, etc. Prioritizes program duties from needs assessment data or other resources. Adjusts course of the program in order to meet program goals.
  • Provides clinic leadership to a behavioral health program.
  • Communicates with OU personnel, external professionals, consumers and others in the administration and implementation of clinical services and/or sponsored programs.
  • Clinical supervision of program personnel and volunteers. Selects, trains, delegates tasks, manages time and attendance documentation, conducts performance appraisals, etc.
  • May participate in the preparation and submission of grant applications and contract proposals. Collaborates with the Office of Research Administration, Grants and Contracts, Principal Investigators, and other personnel. Assists with electronic submissions, including grant applications, Soonertrack, and other required documentation.
  • May provide national level training and consultation on varied content areas to OU personnel, external professionals, graduate psychology trainees, and clinical training in provision of evidence-based behavioral health services.
  • May conduct scientific research, collect data, and communicate findings in verbal and written forms.
  • Participates in the design, development, and collection of data for reports to funders or potential funders.
  • Travels as needed to participate in program meetings, trainings, and professional conferences.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education: Master's degree or above in mental health; may include Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy, AND:

  • 24 months of mental health licensure and provision of mental health treatment. 12 months of experience in clinical supervision/training and/or program administration/management.

  • Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the client
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information
  • Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses

Certifications:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Psychologist
  • Certified in an Evidence-Based Treatment of Children or eligible within 90 days of employment
