The Koinonia Foundation, Inc. (Koinonia) is a 501 (c) (3) faith-based, non-profit human services organization located in the Lee District of Fairfax County, Virginia. Koinonia (pronounced coin-oh-ne-ah) is a Greek word that means spiritual fellowship and sharing with others. Koinonia provides short-term emergency relief services including food, clothing, and financial assistance for rent, utilities, and prescription medications, self-sufficiency services, and seasonal assistance to eligible individuals and families in the Greater Kingstowne/Franconia area. Koinonia strives to break the cycle of poverty and encourage self-sufficiency by offering counseling in budget management, and providing referrals to employment, occupational training, educational and other needed services.
