UPMC Cole is a progressive, rural, non-profit Joint Commission accredited healthcare system serving 6 counties in north central PA and south central NY.  The system consists of:  Cole Memorial Medical Group and Clinics, Home Health and Hospice, Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Patterson Cancer Care Center, and Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital. 

UPMC Cole is a modern facility located on a large, well-maintained campus, and represents the majority of medical and surgical specialties. There are 44 long-term care beds on campus, 4 newly renovated ORs, 10 OB suites, a 6-bed ICU, and newly-constructed, 8-bed ED.  All major diagnostic services are provided. The service area includes 55,000 people in six counties. Given the remoteness of the hospital, the nearest competition is 50 miles away in any direction. The hospital has transfer arrangements with multiple facilities that are a 30-40 minute helicopter trip away. 

The Cole Memorial Medical Group is comprised of the primary care and specialty physician practices, Billing, Information Technology, and Decision Support departments and is responsible for staffing the clinics. There are ten regional primary care practices located in the communities that surround the hospital.  The majority of the specialty practices are located on the main campus.  However, some have regional satellite clinics to expand their presence across north central Pennsylvania and south west New York.

Hospital Location: Coudersport, Pennsylvania, county seat of Potter County, is located in the northcentral area of the state only 100 miles south of Buffalo, New York. With a population of 3,500, Coudersport offers the charm of small town living with access to city amenities just a few hours away. Coudersport's residents enjoy year-round recreation with many opportunities for outdoor activities.      Big game hunting for deer, bear, and wild turkey is a large attraction, and 700 miles of trout streams within the county give fisherman bountiful opportunities. Other activities available for area residents include hiking, boating, golfing, and swimming.

The residents in Coudersport pride themselves on a high quality of life, with friendly people and very low crime rate in the area. Coudersport also offers a superb public school system with a state-of-the-art elementary school. Higher education is readily accessible through Mansfield State University, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, and St. Bonaventure University.
