Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing high quality behavioral health services to Catholic Charities enrolled clients in a collaborative environment. These services may be provided to community members of the Spokane area in our Outpatient Clinic, residents of our Rising Strong program, or residents/patrons of Catholic Charities shelters/permanent supportive housing.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Keep a schedule of regular appointments/outreach as per program needs.
  2. Provide a variety and intensity of behavioral health services to ensure program productivity standards are met.
  3. Record required statistics. Practice timely and complete file management as per state, contract, and program requirements.
  4. Provide behavioral health services according to state regulations and professional ethical conduct guidelines
  5. Provide behavioral health services according to scope of practice as per Washington State licensure/credential.
  6. Prepare intake evaluations and diagnoses and develop individualized service plans with input from clients seeking mental health services and their families and within time limits specified by state/federal and program requirements.
  7. Able to provide behavioral health interventions designed to stabilize families/individuals involved in the Child Welfare or court system and challenged with substance abuse disorders and homelessness.
  8. Provide behavioral health services which promote growth, improve functioning, and keep individuals, couples, and families from decompensating.
  9. Able to demonstrate independent clinical decision making within program support.
  10. Participate in decision making subcommittees such as CQI or Clinical Programming projects.
  11. Document therapy, case management, and care coordination services provided to individuals/families and progress toward goals identified in service plans and per state, program, contractual requirements.
  12. Implement mechanisms that promote rapid and successful reintegration of consumers back into the community from psychiatric hospitals and long-term psychiatric placements, including participating with the hospital inpatient teams in treatment and discharge planning.
  13. Provide information and referrals and link individuals with community resources as needed.
  14. Assist enrolled individuals in obtaining state and federal assistance for which they may be entitled.
  15. Provide skills training and psycho-education to improve individuals and their families/supports understanding and management of psychiatric conditions.
  16. Ability to provide crisis management services when necessary.
  17. Ability to successfully collaborate with medical, behavioral health, law enforcement, and other social service partners to ensure high quality care for clients.
  18. Integrate the use of Evidence-Based mental health practices into all treatment modalities.
  19. Provide outreach and case management services as required/necessary for quality care coordination.
  20. Make collateral contacts and consult other professionals to ensure maximum service benefits for participants.
  21. Perform as a team member to assure that productivity outcome measures are achieved.
  22. Other duties as assigned.
  23. Uses appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and 42 CFR Pt 2
  24. Able to routinely utilize all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor.
  25. Adhere to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine.
  26. Perform related functions necessary to support the mission and core value of Catholic Charities.

Education/Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have an MA, MS, or MSW in Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent from an accredited academic institution. Knowledge of community services. Must have documented experience in the direct treatment of mentally ill persons, of which may have been completed during graduate internship. Experience working with issues of behavioral health and poverty preferred.

Certificates/Licenses: Candidates must hold a current Washington State credential (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW.) Preference will be given to candidates who hold the designation as a Mental Health Professional under WAC ..., RCW 71.05.020(27), and RCW 71.34.020(14). Must have a valid Drivers License and ability to drive for work use. The individual must successfully pass initial and on-going background checks applicable to position.

Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
