Horizons at Saint Davids is a tuition-free, all-boys program serving students from our partner schools in East Harlem committed to preventing summer learning loss. Our 6 week summer program provides high-quality academic enrichment as well as hands-on experiences in STEM, art, music, athletics and aquatics. Boys start as rising first graders and return each summer through their elementary and middle school years. Horizons at Saint Davids operates a proven model and is part of an affiliated network with over 70 Horizons sites serving students across the country.

Job Title: Social Worker

General Responsibilities:

We are looking for a passionate, caring professional who will work as a team player, fulfill the Horizons mission, and create a joyous, inclusive, inspiring and nurturing environment. The Social Worker will plan, design, and teach grade-level SEL curriculum to enrich the student experience at Horizons. Work with small groups or individual students as needed with a focus on social skills. Provide guidance, support to teachers as needed. Build and maintain strong, supportive, and caring relationships with students. Additionally, the social worker is expected to work collaboratively with the administration, other teachers, and staff.

Specific Duties:

? Create and teach lessons that support social and emotional skills, emotion regulation strategies, and conflict resolution skills to classes and small groups

? Serve as a resource and consultant for teachers in integrating SEL practices into the classroom.

? Assist in crisis intervention and emergency response situations.

? Encourage collaboration, teamwork and communication

? Communicate with the parents as needed with the support of the ED

Qualifications:

? Bachelor's Degree or higher in a field related to social work/counseling

? Three or more years of experience as a social worker/counselor in elementary/middle school

? Exceptional communication skills

? Strong classroom management skills with emphasis on positive reinforcement

Schedule:

? June 30, 2025 - August 8, 2025 (closed July 4th in observance of Independence Day)

? Monday - Friday 8:30 am -3:00pm
