Overview
State Of Vermont Probation & Parole Officers must be conscientious, self-motivated individuals with the ability to think on their feet in a fast-paced environment. You'll have a strong understanding of ethics and boundaries as well as the ability to communicate and work in a team setting.

- Be detail oriented
Understanding of victim awareness, risk intervention strategies, and case planning practices, plus the ability to maintain a professional rapport with local law-enforcement agencies and community partners is a must. Prior Corrections, law-enforcement, or military experience is preferred for the position of Probation and Parole Officer I or II at the Springfield Probation and Parole Office. The work will be performed in an office setting with field work required. The hours are 7:45-4:30, Monday-Friday. Some after hours, some weekends, and field work may occur.
Must attend six weeks of instruction at the Vermont Correctional Academy.
