A Job Coach in the social service industry usually possesses a degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field and have experience working with individuals with disabilities. Certifications such as Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) and Certified Job Coach (CJC) may be beneficial. Prior roles that can lead to becoming a Job Coach include positions as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Disability Support Worker, or Career Counselor.
