Turning Winds is a premiere co-ed residential treatment center that is located a few hours west of Glacier National Park on a 150-acreCampus in Troy, Montana. Our program services teens who suffer from a variety of behavioral, educational, and mental health challenges. Our program is built on five pillars of change that foster individual and collective growth of each our students that attends our program,
which includes character and life skill development; health, wellness, and fitness; outdoor education; therapeutic success; and academic achievement. This philosophy allows a unique blend of clinically driven and personalized relational treatment with each of our teens. Our program accepts teens between the ages of 13 and 18, and we’re currently able to accommodate a total enrollment of 40 students with an average length of stay between three to six months. We are, however, willing to extend this period of treatment if it is clinically necessary.

Most of the teens that enroll into our program have fallen behind in their studies and need to recover educationally, not just behaviorally. To meet this ongoing need, we operate a robust academic curriculum that promotes educational excellence through smaller classroom settings, individualized educational programs, and leadership development that is pioneered by some of the best state-licensed educators in Montana.

We also recognize that our teens cannot go on this journey alone and for them to be successful, they need a community of support around them. While at Turning Winds, each of our students will have an assigned therapist who meets with them throughout the course of the week focusing on their development while also strengthening key relationships. Each student will also be immersed in a peer-supportive culture where they have opportunities to lead initiatives that require them to take ownership of themselves and be a responsible part of the successful change in those around them.
